The
last experience that I had in terms of an unbalanced power relationship was
with a coach. I had a lot less power then my coach and that can sometimes be
something that is tough to deal with. You are never going to completely agree
with everything that your coach has to say, but understanding that he is
knowledge helps you trust his decisions. You have to understand in an
unbalanced power relationship that there is a reason why this person has more
power then you do and respect them for that. Respect and trust are the two
things that make or break any coach. Once you lose one of those, then you lose
your power over your players. Having less power in a relationship isn’t a bad
thing, its just different and takes some getting used to. That is the last experience
that I have with an unbalanced power relationship.
